RESULTS OF SEPTEMBER 27, 2008 SPEECH CONTEST

Two Men, Same Area, Same Order for Two Contests....

by Jewel Howers

On a bright Saturday morning at the Cayce-West Columbia Library in West Columbia, Toastmaster members from across the Midlands and outlying areas gathered to participate in an exciting area contest. This was the Area 35/Division C Speech Contest for Toastmasters International District 58 on Saturday - September 27, 2008.

Glenn Oster from NCR Toastmasters Club #7531 won 1st Place in both the Evaluation and Humorous Speech Contests. Peter Chesney from Structurally Sound Club #1252 won 2nd place in both contests. It was a great competition between several members throughout the district. Glenn Oster will represent Area 35 at the Division C competitions on October 4, 2008 at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park at 2300 Greene St., Columbia, SC 29205. The public is welcome to come and see the contestants speak. For more information, contact Jewel Howers, Area 35 Governor, jewel2@sc.rr.com, Cell Phone- 803-767-5994.
